Ahoy Mateys!

Welcome aboard the North Atlantic Currents blog. Come explore the world with us from sustainable spearfishing at home in Denmark to coral gardening in Fiji and everywhere in between.

Farewell to London

Farewell to London

Away from the beacon of London, home for nearly six years, a new adventure calls. Time to begin a new chapter in Copenhagen. Together with my Danish-American family, we're getting off the London treadmill to experience a new side of life.

Before heading off though, we're taking a six month travel extravaganza. We'll be caravanning across New Zealand via a stop in Dubai to check out the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Plus, I'll explore how this seemingly unenvironmentally friendly city is ramping up to host Expo 2020 with sustainability as one of its major themes.

After two months mucking about in New Zealand, we're Samoa-bound. We'll be surfing, spearfishing and sleeping in beach fale's. Next it's over to Fiji - for a week of relaxation, plus a few questions about Fiji bottled water are bubbling up.

The long nights of the Danish summer leave lots of time for relaxing and spending time with family.

Then a brief stop in Copenhagen to sort out some logistics, before heading to New York for some quality family and friend time. We'll travel North to Maine and back down the coast to Martha's Vineyard.

A lovely summer's day in Central Park, NYC.

We'll have to balance our adventurous love of life with some serious eco-friendliness. Come follow along to see what we get into.
